Monster Kill Book
I'd like to see this!!
A book kept in your inventory that collects info about monsters as we kill them. Much like the SotN Monster book, it would include the monsters model, lvl, name, collector item an any possible green items they may drop. The green would only be displayed in the book after the item has been dropped for you or anyone on your team.
This would also allow us to view, in detail, the modles of the monsters something that is very hard to do as its beating on you. Perhaps even a title for boss killing.?
I'd also like to see an arena where we can pay a small fee to solo fight any monster in our journal.. no drops, of course.

i like the beastography idea, it would work better if it was account bassed rarther than character based, as well as the greens, there could also be notes about skill captures, would save GW running slowly and my computer going nuts when i have a browser open in the background.
the arena idea wouldn't work though.

This sounds awfully familiar to Dungeon Siege 2, and it was definitely a neat feature, but ever since they linked the wiki to the help menu, this idea holds little merit.

But then people who play hero/hench would have a really hard time completing that, since the AI's share of drops is invisible... best just make it so that by killing X amount of enemies of a boss's type (ie. 500 Am Fah for Mina Shatter Storm; # needed would be based on monster's rarity) it will start displaying the boss's green.

Do you earnestly think that Guild Wars could be easily programmed to keep track of the particular kills of every single character on its servers?
Do you seriously believe that I could just get one of these books and it would record the numbers of Jade Brotherhood Knights, Ice Imps, Quetzal Slys and Kournan Bowmen I've caved in.... along with everything else?
While it would certainly be fun to rampage throughout the world collecting a menagerie in the book or seeing how many kills of a single monster we could get.... FIRSTLY it wouldn't mean much unless we could show it to others.
Secondly... it couldn't record drops and boss-greens as not only would that make little sense in context but it would become a ridiculously unmanageable amount of data.
Thirdly... the very notion of assigning titles to it is obscene, not least because the farmers would all have the titles at the drop of a hat.
/Semi-Signed....
... though I know they will NEVER implement something like this.

I think that killing a boss of that race or army should be enough to get its entry.
But it would be cool. Even a book for killing bosses would be cool too.

well, I never said anything about the difficulty of programming it, so why comment.. I don't want it to keep track of EVERY kill. Just one page per creature. Example. Kill Mountain Troll, Mountain Troll added to journal. 3-d Rotatable model, collector item: Mountain Toll Tusk, Green (Unique): None. see? very simple.
This wouldn't be a journal for over active farm nuts to show off how many of the same monster they've killed. If that were the case I'd have my fair share of ridiculously high numbers of dead wardens. lol. of course, til the bots took over Aborstone.. Anyway, yes it would probably be a programming challenge but I think it would be fun to fill it and add some fun to hunting.. hmm, a REASON to hunt!

i say it only once more XD
in the end, this is it, what we all want ^^ *g*
A book, that simple stores the information about every monster, that we have killed, sorted by its race, alphabetical or by level however ...
When we kill then a certain monster, the bestiary will receive an entry about it, and some nice little things will unlock in this book.
As mentined, we get a little 3d picture, that we can rotate, zoom in and out and let the creature make some actions or so they do ingame.
Then we get simple informations like.
Level: XX-XX
Max HP: Lvl Y: xxx , lvl Z: xxx ...
Max Energy: *see above*
Skills:
bla bla bla
bla blub bla
Elite: blah blah bluuuup
Strenghs:
xxxx
Weaknesses:
yyyy
Where to find:
Example Swamp
Example Forest
Example Desert ....
Common Drops:
xxx (xx%)
yyy (yy%)
...
Rare Drops:
zzz (zz%)
and so on
there will be then no mention, how much of a certain monster the player with its character has killed, even if this would be a nice addition for a certain new title id wish to exist in the game "Monster Hunter Title Track" ^^
But that can exists with the book version too and the player has simple to kill from everything only 1
The should be made then only for normal monsters, not for bosses, with some exceptions, when certain boss monsters will receive new lookings and won't look like normal monsters with only a colored light around them, like the "Leviathan" which should be imo a big winged sea snake and no dumb huge frost wurm. or when making it easier, no 3d picture, instead of that colored drawn artworks that look like paintings from a drawer
pictures like this:
http://www.century-soft.com/images/b..._fire3_psp.jpg
such artworks in this style and in this style then pictures from monsters.
I belive in the graphikers, that they can surely make such nice artworks for a Bestiary Book
for the arena ..not signed, because its simple senseless, but a bestiary book is ever a very nice and awesome little feature any any game thats an RPG or at least somehow like an RPG ...

Well the mechanism is half-way there, at least. In nightfall the game can distinguish how many hekets you killed compared to insects for the sunspear bounties, for instance. So the main problem would be logging that.
But i wouldnt go for the idea of recodring everything, just the bosses. Record bosses defeated, but also, record the bosses that killed you. So you can later go back and take revenge.

I would love to see that, but not as a book that you need in inventory >.<
Then in "Menu", my inventory keeps filling and filling T_T, i want to keep it empty and full with money :P
And i think they cant add this, because alot of people already have slayed every monster once ...
And if you want to add this i think you need to make it like you can only see the monster drops when you got that drop ^^, this is for making it a bit harder

Meh.... if it was added, it would HAVE to keep a numerical count for every monster for the number of them killed by the player's team....
That alone.... even without a title.... would encourage me to farm a whole hell of a lot more, and better keep track of farming too.
